Plan on spending a special Shabbat morning at Beth Israel, The West Temple.  We will honor our High Holy Days Choir and accompanist Mel Arnoff.

9:30 – 9:24 am Nosh and Schmooze

9:45 – 10:45 am Rabbi will teach new sections from Pirkei Avot  (The “Ethics of the Fathers”)

10:45 – 12 pm T’filah in the Sanctuary

Noon:  Pot Luck Dairy Lunch (A – Lettofsky bring a hot meal, Lit – Z bring a cold meal to share)


Hanukkah Dinner & Services

Come light your Menorah with your Beth Israel-The West Temple Family.  Hanukkah Dinner and Services Friday December 3rd, 2010.  Dinner will begin at 6:00pm and Erev Shabbat Services at 7:30pm.  Please bring a NON DAIRY DISH that will serve a minimum of 10 people.  We will light up the Sanctuary with our Menorahs, so don’t forget to bring them.  Price $4.00 per person, maximum $15.00 per family.  Chicken and Potato Latkes will be provided.  Please RSVP to Lynn Atzemhoffer as soon as possible (no later than Dec. 1, 2010)

Simchat Torah Celebration: Dinner and Services

Friday night October 1, 2010:  Dinner at 6:30pm, Services at 7:30pm.  Come enjoy dinner with friends and family, then march around the Temple in celebration of the reading of a new Torah year.  Please bring a dairy dish to share for supper AND for supper R.S.V.P. to Louise Zeitlan Howsman (phone number and email address in the directory)

Tot Shabbat

Calling all families with newborns, babies, toddlers, and children under 5 years old.  Come and enjoy Tot Shabbat at Beth Israel the West Temple. Bring your children, grandchildren, neighbors and friends for fun,  Shabbat songs, stories and dancing.  Braid your own challah to take home for your family’s shabbat.  No membership required.  Saturday July 24, 2010 at 10:00 AM.  For more information please call the temple’s office 216-941-8882, or email belafischer@gmail.com.

Family Shared Shabbat & Ice Cream Social Oneg

You are invited to join the congregation on Friday, July 9 for a summer reunion Family Shared Shabbat. School is out, camp has not yet begun…come and enjoy an evening service followed by an ice cream Oneg. Ice cream provided – bring your favorite topping to share.
The Service will start at 7:30 p.m. and David Bamberger will be our Service Leader. See you there!

Celebrating the rabbinic ordination of Enid Lader

Beth Israel-The West Temple is celebrating the rabbinic ordination of Enid Lader, its long-time educator extraordinaire, at a special service, Shabbat morning, June 5.  Rabbi Lader will lead the Torah Study beginning at 9:45 and most of the service, and will speak during the service.  Following the service all present will enjoy a pot-luck lunch in her honor.
